 Judy Casey ~ Board President
Judy has been an educator all of her life.  She has been a School Principal, Literacy Director, and State Literacy Association President.  She serves as a mentor and Board member for KPWE  at UCCS.   She was a member of the Colorado Springs Rotary Club (Downtown) and was Rotarian of the Year in 2016.   She has a B.A. Elementary Education from University of  North Carolina and a M.Ed in Reading from University of Massachusetts. ​​​​​

 

Sandy Halby ~ Board Vice President
Sandy has BS in Mathematics from the University of Alaska. She is a military veteran and is retired from the federal government as a civil servant.  Currently, she is president of a local Mensa group and was active in the Pikes Peak Beekeepers Association.


Bertha Koch ~ Board Secretary
Bertha has been involved in the Colorado Springs Community for 47 years. She is retired from Girl Scouts as a Volunteer Service Manager for Girl Scouts of Colorado, where she was a staff member for 25 years for legacy council Wagon Wheel. She was part of a statewide team that managed over 10,000 volunteers’ recruitment, interviewing, volunteer applications, references, background checks, training, enrichment, fund raising and conflict management and statewide recognition for volunteers. She has partnered with multiple groups over the years and coalitions. She is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and Association of Executive GS. Currently chairs Pikes Peak Girl Scout Alumni, American Legion Auxiliary and advocate for Veterans exposed to toxic waste. Her work experience over the years have been diverse from design showrooms, advertising, medicine and Compassion International.​​

Jim Poole ~ Board Treasurer

Jim has a PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of Northern Colorado, MS in Economics, and an MS in Geology.  Dr. Poole spent five years working as a geologist and thirty-five years in various roles working for major banks.  Jim retired in 2015 and spends a lot of time travelling, reading, and studying geopolitics and photography, his real true passions.

Dick Fairley ~ Board Member at Large

Dick has a PhD in software and systems engineering, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering.  Dick chairs the Curriculum Committee and does speaker presentations, mostly on the history of technology and music.  Before retiring, he had been an engineering faculty member, department chair, associate dean, and dean.  He was also a consultant to industry and a disc jockey for many years.  He is an Air Force veteran.  Dick was an avid skier until his knees said "enough;" he rides his motorcycle less than he used to but still enjoys doing so.  He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary Jane, in their home near Woodland Park and traveling with her. 

Nancy Seckman ~ Board Member at Large

Nancy has a B.S. in Public Administration and an MEd in Counseling and Guidance.  As a lifelong career counselor, Nancy has worked with many different populations including college students, active duty military, military spouses and older adults. She was the creator and facilitator of the New Visions: Life/Career Opportunities for Retirement at Pikes Peak Community College for a number of years. After retirement from the federal government, she joined PILLAR where she has served on a few committees and helped with a variety of events. She currently enjoys playing the piano, reading and hiking.

Bill Wright ~ Board Member at Large

Bill has a MSA in Management Engineering from George Washington University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.  Bill has thirty-seven years of federal service as an engineer for the US Navy and a VA Hospital Administrator. He retired as a Federal Senior Executive Service (SES 4) member.
