Volunteering! It’s what we do!
As a membership organization, PILLAR prospers because of active and ongoing volunteer support—both from members and from those who graciously share their expertise by teaching PILLAR courses.
Office Volunteer
Office staff volunteer for one 3.5 hour shift a week. Duties include greeting people, taking attendance, office work, etc. Looking for afternoon volunteers.

Class Catalog
Editors are needed for the class catalog. Good grammar and punctuation are very important in this volunteer position.

Fundraising
Fundraising volunteers may work on the annual Peach fundraiser or create a new fundraiser to raise money for PILLAR.

Instructor
.Join other retired or current college professors, educators, and other talented professionals who teach for PILLAR. The rewards for teaching for PILLAR are innumerable. Many PILLAR presenters have reported that their classes have been the richest teaching experiences of their lives. PILLAR class participants are intelligent, vibrant, and engaging. In addition, for many instructors, this is an enjoyable time to teach without grades, homework, papers, or exams while having lively discussions with class participants who enjoy learning. Curriculum Committee
Curriculum volunteers meet once a month. Team members brainstorm about class topics, who might teach them, and secures class proposals for the next catalog.

Board Committees
Marketing committee

Class Catalog Distributor. We need people to bring class catalogs to all of the library branches. If you know a retirement home or a doctor's office, that works too.

Speakers. Do you enjoy speaking at local groups about PILLAR or do you know of a group that would love to hear about what PILLAR does, contact Sandy.

Volunteers are needed to be on the finance committee. Were you a former CPA, banker, or investment analyst? These are the skills that PILLAR needs on this committee.

Do you like to write or edit policies? This is the committee for you.
Program Oversight committee

This committee oversees the big picture of all of the programs and events that PILLAR has and using metrics to evaluate them. This committee is not about curriculum, but is metrics driven.
