As a volunteer driven nonprofit, PILLAR volunteers make PILLAR great!  There are opportunities to use life and work skills, as a receptionist, a class registrar, a classroom host, on curriculum, or on board committees.  Over 200 volunteers and 25,000 volunteer hours were given to PILLAR last year.  Volunteer-Members receive class credits for free classes.

Come and join us!

Receptionists - Work one 3 - 1/2 hour shift a week answering phones, taking class registrations and memberships, filing, and greeting people.  A background check is required to be a receptionist.

Registrars - Enter class registrations, memberships, and donations into our software system.  A background check is required to be a registrar.

Classroom Hosts - Assist the instructor, take attendance, make class announcements, and hand out evaluations.

Curriculum -  Develops the list of outstanding classes PILLAR offers each trimester.  The committee is divided into subcommittees, each focusing on specific interest areas.  Each subcommittee has at least two members, and we are always looking for additional members to help find new and interesting classes and instructors.  Click on this button to send new class ideas or instructor referrals.

Board of Directors and Board Committees - Provides oversight for the organization in a number of areas: Finance, Governance, Development, Marketing, and Program Oversight.  PILLAR has a working board.  Each board member participated in the board meeting and is on one board committee.  A background check is required to be on the board of directors.   Please contact the Executive Director for more information on becoming a PILLAR Board Member.
