Ways to Give to PILLAR!


Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone: PILLAR is an approved Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone project. All donations to PILLAR over $250 will give you a 25% Colorado income tax credit. Write a check payable to Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone.  Put PILLAR and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number (personal) or EIN (businesses) number in the memo line.  Mail your check to PILLAR.  If you want to use your credit card to donate, put your last 4 digits in the Enterprise Zone box . You will receive a donation thank you letter from PILLAR and 2-3 weeks later a letter from the El Paso County Administrator explaining how to use the credit on your Colorado state income tax.

Operations Donations: PILLAR needs regular donations, no matter how small.  You can donate once or monthly.

Donate to a Colorado Nonprofit with your Colorado income tax refund:  You can donate to PILLAR part or all of your Colorado income tax refund.   On form 104CH put PILLAR's  Registration # 20033006484.  If you search for PILLAR, it's DBA are PILLAR, INC.; PILLAR; or PILLAR INSTITUTE FOR LIFELONG LEARNING.

King Soopers Community Rewards:  Attach PILLAR as your designated charity to your King Soopers Loyalty card by going online to your King Soopers account.  Go to:  Enter PILLAR's number: WI736. (it is a W and an I, 736)

AmazonSmile: Attach your Amazon account to PILLAR by going to, then your Amazon Account, Other programs, and then change your Amazon Smile charity. Look for PILLAR, Inc., Colorado Springs.

RMD - Required Minimum Distributions: IRS rules mandate that individuals age 72 and older take RMDs from their IRA each year. These annual withdrawals are subject to ordinary income taxes. By making a charitable contribution from your IRA, you can satisfy your RMD amount without reporting additional income.

QCD - Qualified Charitable Distributions: A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met.

Legacy Giving: PILLAR has established a legacy fund for the purpose of sustaining PILLAR's future.  The interest earned in this fund will be available for annual operations; however the original principal contributions will be held to sustain PILLAR's programs and activities into the future.

Memorial Donations: Memorial donations can be made by designating who the person is that you would like to honor. A donation letter will be sent to the family with your name as the donor.

Business Sponsorships:  Businesses can donate to PILLAR through a sponsorship. Sponsorships include acknowledgement on the PILLAR website and in the PILLAR Preview class catalog for one year. Businesses can also donate through the Enterprise Zone.  Contact the PILLAR director.
